Andrea Carmichael is a multi-faceted, energetic and life-affirming transgender woman. She has lived a full, rich life, including periods in Canada, Russia and Central Asia. She now lives in the wonderful, welcoming desert community of Tucson, Arizona with her late-teenage son. She speaks German and Russian fluently and taught both languages at the high school level for several years (having an MA in German), as well as Tajiki with some proficiency. She loves learning languages and has dabbled in Japanese, Polish, French and Uzbek as well. Her passion for learning languages comes from her desire to connect with others, whether in her home country or while traveling overseas. She longs to see people connect better with one another in every context, and her heart grieves for those who lack significant connection with other.
In addition to being passionate about languages, Andrea lives to dance. Most evenings and weekends you will find her at the dance studio. She also enjoys watching soccer (football), reading (when she has spare time), cross stitching and relaxing with one of her two cats on her lap.
